Location was great. Its a short walk from San Marcos Plaza. The decor of the room was nice. The walls were covered in a textured fabric with some cushion under it. The bathroom was clean, with modern fixtures. Shower had plenty of elbow room with solid water pressure. It had a working air conditioning unit. I only stayed one night, and I was able to leave the keys in my room given that I had to be out early to catch a boat to the airport. The host that checked me in was very nice and helped me work out how to get to the airport and at what time to catch the Alilaguna blue Line Boat to the airport to be there in time to catch my flight. All in all, I would definitely stay here next time I'm in Venice.

Though the room itself was not spacious (what room in Venice is?) it was comfortable and worked well for my friend and I. The location was perfect! It was a 2 minute walk to St. Mark's square and about a 10 minute walk to Rialto Bridge area. Plenty of shops and restaurants within a few minute walk. There is a long flight of stairs from street level to the hotel itself and there is no elevator. The hotel staff was kind enough to meet us at the street entrance and carry our bags up for us. The hotel staff were quite friendly and helpful when we had questions about restaurants or transportation. We very much enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Hotel San Gallo.

The hotel is centrally located, less than 100 steps from St Mark's Square and 5 minutes walk from Rialto, so great for getting around the city. The owner and her son were really helpful, with lots of advice on where to go and eat and how to get back to the mainland. My room was relatively small, but absolutely fine for one person, and great value at less than £60 per night. The room was on the top floor, so it was quiet and the bed was comfortable, so I slept well. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room, and the room was nice and warm.

I got there earlier than checkin time and was greeted by Valeria, who was the most lovely and accomodating! Kept my bags and had them taken to my room, later on. Immediately asked if I need any help getting around town and if I’d like recommendations! I asked for help with public transport to places and she more than helped. Valeria made my trip in Venice! Even if it was one day it was the best! The room was so cozy and nice! Highly recommend! Great location too! So easy to get to! And Venchi (gelato and chocolate) is right around the corner!!!!!

The location is fantastic; the hotel is literally 50 meters from San Marco square. Price was affordable for such location. The staff is very welcoming, especially a young man whose name I unfortunately didn't get. He explained where I could find tasty, affordable Venetian meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. After following his instructions, I found myself enjoying Venice even more. Thanks for the tips! Considering the excellent location, reasonable price, and a few minor negatives, I would rate this hotel as a 9/10
